Los aspectos socioculturales y la historia personal influyen en la vivencia de la enfermedad y en el afrontamiento que realizan las personas para superarla.
De la misma manera, los profesionales sanitarios aplican los conocimientos adquiridos a lo largo de la formación, pero la forma de prestarlos, la actitud ante el enfermo, los modos, la forma de hablar, también están influenciados por los mismos condicionantes de las experiencias previas.
Este documento muestra el resultado de una entrevista realizada a una enfermera, que a los diecisiete años padeció y superó un linfoma.
Reflexiona sobre su vivencia como enferma, cómo se le trataba, el cambio de rol que provoca la enfermedad y su rebeldía ante la falta de información o a que se le tratara como a un niño pequeño.
En su práctica asistencial destaca por su alegría y por la cercanía al paciente y a su familia.

This document shows the result of an interview to a nurse, who at age of seventeen she suffered and overcame a lymphoma.
She reflects her experience as sick, how was treated, the changed rol that the illness causes and her rebellion by the absence of information, or that she was treated as a small child.
In her care practice, she stands out by her joy and proximity to the patient and his family.
