El presbivértigo es una consecuencia natural del proceso de enveje- cimiento que afecta a los órganos responsables del equilibrio y bási- camente a las lesiones degenerativas propias de la edad del sistema vestibular, entre otros. Esto genera al adulto mayor una continua sen- sación de inestabilidad, dificultando el poder mantener el equilibrio principalmente en situaciones sensoriales dif íciles. Su tratamiento radica en la rehabilitación del sistema vestibular, mediante la rehabi- litación del reflejo vestibulocular y del equilibrio estático y dinámico.

Presbyvertigo is a natural consequence of the aging process that affects the organs responsible for balance and basically age-related degenerative lesions of the vestibular system, among others. This generates a continuous feeling of instability in the elderly, making it difficult to maintain balance, especially in difficult sensory situa- tions. Its treatment lies in the rehabilitation of the vestibular system, through the rehabilitation of the vestibulocular reflex and static and dynamic balance.
