  Las masonerías autóctonas de Cuba y Puerto Rico, durante la segunda mitad del Siglo XIX, han sido estudiadas por algunos historiadores académicos, europeos, y sobre todo españoles, así como por varios otros de estas islas. La percepción de estos dos grupos de historiadores difiere, con respecto a la interpretación y a la exclusión de tres elementos claves. En el presente trabajo analizaremos y contrastaremos tales diferencias de opinión, y argüiremos sobre sus méritos respectivos.

  Autochthonous obediences in Cuba and Puerto Rico, during the mid-19th Century, have been studied by several European historians in academia, especially from Spain, as well as by a few from these islands. The perception of these two groups of historians differs regarding the interpretation and exclusion of three main events. In this paper we analyze and contrast such differences and argue their respective merits.
