    Based on the key concept of Revelation, the author reinterprets the works of José Tolentino Mendonça, published in Brazil in this decade. First, in A leitura infinita (2015) [The infinite reading], the fundamental dynamics of faith between “hiding and revelation” explicitly appears. A construção de Jesus (2018) [The construction of Jesus], the second work studied, presents how the dynamic nar-rative of Luke serves to the revelation of the prophet from Nazareth. Thirdly, the book Nenhum Caminho será longo (2013) [No Way will be long], by showing the wear and tear of the word “love”, demonstrates in the Scriptures a God who reveals himself as a “friend” of humanity. Fourthly, it will be necessary to speak of the revelation of God and the human being according to the idea of thirst and lacking, in Elogio da sede (2018) [Praise of thirst]). Finally, the article concludes, in the filigree of other books by the author, how the theme of revelation is no less present. Here is a reading guide for this great literary, exegete and theologian.

    A partir do conceito-chave da Revelação, o autor faz uma releitura das obras de José Tolentino Mendonça, editadas no Brasil neste decênio. Primeiro, em A Leitura Infinita (2015), aparece, explicitamente, a dinâmica fundamental da fé entre “escondimento e revelação”. A construção de Jesus (2018), segunda obra estudada, apresenta como a dinâmica narrativa de Lucas está a serviço da revelação do profeta de Nazaré. Em terceiro lugar, o livro Nenhum Caminho será longo: Para uma teologia da amizade (2013), constatando o desgaste da palavra amor, mostra, nas Escrituras, um Deus que se revela como amigo da humanidade. Em quarto lugar, caberá falar da revelação de Deus e do ser humano a partir da sede e da falta, tema da obra Elogio da sede (2018). Enfim, o artigo indica, em conclusão, nas filigranas de outros livros do autor, como o tema da revelação não é menos presente. Eis um guia de leitura deste grande literato, exegeta e teólogo.
