    En el Concilio Vaticano II, la Sagrada Escritura logró un protagonismo inusitadoen la Iglesia y en la vida de los creyentes en Latinoamérica y el Caribe. ¿Cómoimpactó en el continente?, ¿cuáles fueron los efectos de la interpretación dela Biblia en la región? Un repaso de prácticas usuales llevadas a cabo antesdel Concilio, cuando la Biblia se usó para legitimar el “derecho” a la conquistadel Nuevo Mundo, como el examen de la actual diversificación hermenéutica,creadora de nuevos horizontes de lectura que permiten al lector aprehenderperspectivas insospechadas, suscitadas por la apropiación de la EscrituraSagrada en la Iglesia, donde se asoman los rostros y las voces silenciadasen largos siglos de olvido. Este recorrido lleva al lector por el método deinterpretación textual de los evangelizadores de varias épocas; por el acceso altexto para su lectura e interpretación y por la teología subyacente.

    From the Vatican II Council, Sacred Scripture achieved an unusual role in theChurch and the lives of believers in Latin America and the Caribbean. How wasthis impulse forged in the continent? What were the effects of the interpretationof the Bible in the Latin American context? Both a review of usual practicescarried out with the Bible before the Council, when it was used to legitimize thelaw to conquer the New World, and the staging of the current hermeneuticaldiversification, creative of the new horizons of reading, they allow the readerto apprehend unsuspected perspectives, aroused by the appropriation ofHoly Scripture in the life of the Church, lean out faces and voices silenced inthe long centuries of oblivion. This travel leads the reader through the textualinterpretation method of the evangelizers of various times; for the access to thetext, for its reading and interpretation and for the theology that underlines it.
