Resumen de Lean service e redução de custos no processo de coleta de resíduos domiciliares

  The systematic pursuit of efforts to improve the operations of organizations has raised the growing interest in Lean beyond the contexts of manufacturing. This paper aims to analyze the household waste collection process of the city of Belo Horizonte conducted by the Superintendence of Urban Cleaning in order to identify the existing losses that impact the costs of this activity.

  The guidelines of the Municipal Solid Waste Management Plan and the current household waste collection process were analyzed. This made it possible to identify Lean losses and to measure the costs involved in this operation. The analysis also allowed the survey of the gains and management challenges arising from the adoption of the point-to-point collection system as an alternative for the realization of this service. It is important to use the Lean approach in the analysis and in the search for alternatives to improve the quality and productivity in the management of service operations.

  A busca sistemática de esforços para melhorar as operações das organizações, tem despertado o crescente interesse sobre o “Lean” além dos contextos da manufatura.  Neste artigo, objetiva-se analisar o processo de coleta de resíduos domiciliares do município de Belo Horizonte realizado pela Superintendência de Limpeza Urbana de modo a identificar as perdas existentes que impactam nos custos desta atividade. Analisaram-se as diretrizes do Plano Municipal de Gestão integrada de Resíduos Sólidos e o processo atual de coleta de resíduo domiciliar. Isso possibilitou a identificação das perdas sob a ótica Lean e a mensuração dos custos envolvidos com esta operação. A análise também permitiu o levantamento dos ganhos e desafios gerenciais advindos da adoção do sistema de coleta ponto a ponto como uma alternativa para a realização deste serviço. Realça-se a importância do uso da abordagem “Lean” na análise e na busca de alternativas para a melhoria da qualidade e produtividade na gestão de operações dos serviços.
