  In this article I analyze the representation forms of the Black woman in the AfroDiasporic resistance memories reconstructed through the voice of the protagonist character of the Female Afro-Hispanic-American novel Reyita sencillamente: testimonio de una negra cubana nonagenaria (1997) by the Afro-Cuban writer Daysi Rubiera Castillo. I intend to prioritize memories associated with the resistance of African and Afro-descendant woman, considering discursive strategies that explore “different meanings, diversified presentations of signs” (SOUZA, 2019, p. 48) and open up new possibilities to represent Black woman. To address Afrofemale representation in Latin America, and more precisely in Cuba, I return to discussions by intellectual Afro-Brazilian researchers Florentina Souza (2019) and Lélia Gonzalez (2011), as well as by Afro-Cuban intellectual researchers Aymée Rivera (2012) and Daysi Rubiera (2011).

  I add to these discussions approaches by African-American intellectuals and researchers bell hooks (2019) and Patrícia Collins (2019) on the image and self-definition of Black woman

  Neste artigo, interessa-me analisar os modos de representação da mulher negra nas memórias de resistências afro-diaspóricas reconstruídas através da voz da personagem protagonista do romance afro-hispano-americano de autoria feminina Reyita sencillamente: testimonio de una negra cubana nonagenaria (1997) da escritora afro-cubana Daisy Rubiera Castillo. Pretendo aqui priorizar memórias associadas à resistência da mulher africana e afrodescendente, considerando estratégias discursivas que exploram “sentidos diferentes, apresentações diversificadas de signos” (SOUZA, 2019, p. 48) e abrem novas possibilidades de se representar a mulher negra. Sobre a representação afro-feminina na América Latina, e mais precisamente em Cuba, retomo discussões das intelectuais pesquisadoras afro-brasileiras Florentina Souza (2019) e Lélia Gonzalez (2011), bem como das intelectuais pesquisadoras afro-cubanas Aymée Rivera (2012) e Daisy Rubiera (2011). Acrescento a essas discussões abordagens das intelectuais e pesquisadoras afro-americanas bell hooks (2019) e Patrícia Collins (2019) sobre imagem e autodefinição da mulher negra.
