Resumen de O significado do sacrifício nos rituais de alisamento capilar e autoimagem feminina

  People consume based on the way they see themselves and want to be seen, especially with regard to aesthetic consumption, often presenting sacrificial conduct for the fulfillment of their desires. Associated with negative stereotypes, curly or curly hair usually undergoes structural changes from straightening to follow socially acceptable standards. In this context, this work aims to understand the meaning of the sacrifice involved in the straightening ritual and its relationship with self-image and idealized social patterns. The research, with a qualitative interpretative approach based on oral history and thematic content analysis, realized that the straightening ritual is seen as a sacrifice for women by factors such as time, money, health risk and the process itself; and most of them are influenced to perform the straightening by the influence of the compliments, judgments and prejudices of others.

  As pessoas consomem baseadas na forma como se veem e querem ser vistas, principalmente no que refere-se ao consumo estético, apresentando, muitas vezes, condutas sacrificiais pela efetivação de seus desejos. Associados a estereótipos negativos, cabelos cacheados ou crespos, geralmente, são submetidos a mudanças estruturais a partir de alisamentos, para seguir padrões socialmente aceitáveis. Neste contexto, esse trabalho objetiva compreender o significado do sacrifício envolvido no ritual de alisamento e sua relação com a autoimagem e padrões sociais idealizados. A pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa interpretativista a partir da história oral e análise de conteúdo temática, percebeu que o ritual de alisamento é visto como um sacrifício para as mulheres por fatores, como o tempo, dinheiro, risco à saúde e o próprio processo; e a maioria delas é influenciada a realizar o alisamento por influência dos elogios, julgamentos e preconceitos capilares alheios.
