Resumen de Pensar en igualdad: los hombres defienden a las mujeres en el siglo XIX

El objetivo de esta comunicación es agrupar los nombres de muchos autores -no todos- que, en diferentes épocas de la Historia de España se atrevieron a romper el discurso patriarcal imperante y defender la mejora de algunos aspectos que afectaban a las mujeres, bien en el tema de la instrucción, bien en el laboral, aunque entendido dentro de su contexto histórico. No se pretende ser exhaustivo en este texto. Hubo muchos más hombres que se posicionaron a favor de los derechos de las mujeres, pero por problemas obvios de espacio los dejaremos para otra ocasión. La mayoría de ellos provenían de las clases media-alta y con gran reconocimiento intelectual, lo que les convierte en verdaderos antecedentes del pensamiento igualitario a destacar en la historiografía en épocas posteriores, aunque muchas veces son olvidados. En este texto se abarca desde la Ilustración, período en el que se consiguió un gran avance en el pensamiento de la sociedad española y europea en general, así como en el tema de las mujeres en particular. El período en el que más nombres encontramos es en el último tercio del siglo XIX, tras la Revolución Gloriosa de 1868, gracias al prestigio que alcanzó la Institución Libre de Enseñanza y sus fundadores, entre otros elementos.

The aim of this communication is to group together the names of many authors - not all - who, at different times in the history of Spain, dared to break the prevailing patriarchal discourse and defend the improvement of some aspects that affected women, Subject of instruction, either in the workplace, although understood within its historical context. It is not intended to be exhaustive in this text. There were many more men who positioned themselves, but for obvious problems of space we will leave them for another occasion. Most of them came from the middle-upper classes and with great intellectual recognition, which makes them a true antecedent to be highlighted in historiography in later times, although often forgotten. In this text is covered from the Enlightenment, period in which was achieved a great advance in the thought of Spanish and European society in general, as well as in the issue of women in particular. The period in which more names are found is in the last third of the 19th century, after the Glorious Revolution of 1868, thanks to the prestige that the Free Institution of Education and its founders achieved.
