El objetivo de este trabajo es explorar la intersección entre esoterismo y mito en la obra Promethea de Alan Moore (1953-). En primer lugar, se ofrece una aproximación al concepto de «esoterismo», y a continuación se exponen las características del hermetismo y su legado, vitales para comprender la obra de Moore. Finalmente, el trabajo analiza la conclusión de Promethea, para entender cómo se produce la interacción entre mito y esoterismo.

The aim of this article is to explore the intersection between esotericism and myth in Alan Moore’sPromethea.First, an approach to what we consider “esotericism” is presented, followed by an exposition of the characteristics of Hermetism and its legacy, which are vital to understand Moore’s work. Finally, the ending of Promethea will be analyzed in order to understand how the interaction between myth and esotericism take place.
