Eusebio Leal Spengler, reconocido defensor del patrimonio arquitectónico de Cuba, fue una figura de alcance internacional no solo por su memorable labor en su país, donde desempeñaba el cargo de Historiador de la Ciudad de La Habana. Desde ese sitial fue un gran promotor de la recuperación del rico patrimonio edificado de Cuba y un destacado promotor de inversiones de carácter internacional para refuncionalizar y dar nuevos usos vinculados al turismo a numerosos edificios patrimoniales de su ciudad. Como ensayista y escritor sobre temas de arte y restauración de monumentos, su pensamiento, sus ideas y propuestas despertaron el mayor interés entre los estudiosos e intelectuales de toda Latinoamérica.

Eusebio Leal Spengler, recognized defender of the architectural heritage of Cuba, was a figure of international scope not only for his memorable work in his country, where he held the position of Historian of the City of Havana. From that position he was a great promoter of the recovery of Cuba's rich built heritage and a prominent promoter of international investments to refunctionalize and give new uses related to tourism to numerous heritage buildings in his city. As an essayist and writer on themes of art and restoration of monuments, his thoughts, ideas and proposals aroused the greatest interest among scholars and intellectuals throughout Latin America.
