La artritis gotosa es una enfermedad producida por el depósito de cristales de urato monosódico en articulaciones, lo que genera un intenso dolor monoarticular. La moxibustión y la luz infrarroja han demostrado su eficacia en la disminución del dolor. El objetivo de este trabajo es evaluar los efectos terapéuticos de los puntos V 23 Shenshu y B 6 Sanyinjiao con moxibustión y con la luz infrarroja sobre el dolor en la artritis gotosa. Se trata de un estudio de tipo prospectivo, transversal y analítico; se realizó la moxibustión de V 23 Shenshu y B 6 Sanyinjiao bilateral y la aplicación de luz infrarroja por 8 sesiones 2 veces por semana. Se utilizó camilla, moxa en cono, encendedor, lampara de luz infrarroja, cinta métrica y reloj. Comparando la escala PainDetect para el análisis de comportamiento del dolor, se obtuvo una puntuación PainDetect de 1/38 al término del tratamiento, que al inicio del tratamiento era de 11/38. Se comprueba que el tratamiento integral con moxibustión y luz infrarroja es útil para disminuir el dolor.

Gouty arthritis is a disease caused by the deposit of monosodium urate crystals in joints, generating intense single-joint pain; moxibustion and infrared light have proven effective in reducing pain. The goal was to evaluate the therapeutic effects of the BL 23 Shenshu and SP 6 Sanyinjiao points with moxibustion, accompanied by with infrared light, on pain in gouty arthritis. Prospective, cross-sectional and analytical study; BL 23 Shenshu and SP 6 Sanyinjiao moxibustion was performed bilaterally with the application of infrared light for 8 sessions 2 times a week. A stretcher, moxa cone, lighter, infrared lamp, measuring tape and watch were used. Comparing the PainDetect scale for the analysis of pain behavior, a score of 1/38 was obtained at the end of the treatment, taking 11/38 as a reference at the beginning of the treatment. We confirm that integral treatment with moxibustion and infrared light is useful to reduce pain.
