    Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre de Johann Wolfgang von Goethe es una de las primeras Bildungsroman en la literatura alemana cuyo eje temático plantea una perspectiva del teatro alemán del siglo XVIII como elemento educativo para la vida del individuo. Goethe conforma un palimpsesto con fragmentos, referencias y citas de otras obras que construyen la suya propia y plantea la situación política, estética y cultural del teatro nacional alemán. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar en la novela los elementos considerados propios del teatro, además de la referencia a otras obras o características teatrales del momento en el que se encuentra.

    Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is one of the first Bildungsroman in German literature whose thematic focus suggests a view of the German theater of the eighteenth century as an educational element in the life of the individual. Goethe creates a palimpsest with fragments, references and quotes from other works that build his own novel, and addresses the political, aesthetic and cultural situation of the German national theater. The objective of this article is to identify in Goethe’s novel elements considered typical of drama, as well as references to other plays or characteristics of the theatre of the period.
