Desafios de enseñar y aprender psicología en El Salvador

    Considerar realizar estudios de la carrera en psicología se ha convertido en un desafío en el contexto salvadoreño. Por su parte el profesional que está haciendo un esfuerzo por ensañar las competencias necesarias, también se encuentra con una serie de dificultades que son comunes a las universidades de la región y al contexto latinoamericano. No se crítica en esta reflexión las características de la formación, ni el perfil esperado del docente, sino más bien, las brechas que se deben sortear en el continuo aprendizaje y enseñanza. Algunas de ellas son: la Era de la información, la percepción social de la carrera, participación de extranjerismos, la forma en que se aborda la introducción a la disciplina y sus procesos psicológicos básicos.

    Además, se explora el compromiso asumido por el docente, provechoso cuando busca mejorar la experiencia y comprensión, pero contraproducente si el agotamiento y el mínimo esfuerzo mueven a hacer una reproducción del índice de un texto. Unificar las opiniones del estudiante, que se encuentra con textos superfluos, con el pensamiento del docente que lucha por aterrizar los contenidos complejos, hace evidente la necesidad de armas como lecturas complementarias, recursos audiovisuales y la investigación en esta batalla donde están en juego sus propios pensamientos, emociones y actos, sin olvidar que la mejor forma de enseñar es produciendo reflexión psicológica que surge del mismo grupo.

    Considering career studies in psychology has become a challenge in the Salvadoran context. For their part, the professional who strives to teach the necessary skills also encounters a series of difficulties that are common to the universities in the region and to the Latin American context. In this reflection, the characteristics of the training are not criticized, nor the expected profile of the teacher, but the gaps that must be bridged in continuous learning and teaching. Some of them are: the Information Age, the social perception of the career, the participation of foreign words, the way in which the introduction to the discipline and its basic psychological processes is approached. In addition, the commitment assumed by the teacher is explored, useful when he seeks to improve experience and understanding, but counterproductive if exhaustion and minimal effort lead to the reproduction of the index of a text. Unifying the opinions of the student, who runs into superfluous texts, with the thought of the teacher who struggles to land complex content, makes evident the need for weapons such as complementary readings, audiovisual resources and research in this battle where theirs are at stake. Thoughts, emotions and actions, without forgetting that the best way to teach is by producing a psychological reflection that arises from the same group.
