The buckling and vibration of laminated plates with various types of nonuniform compressive edge loads is analyzed. This problem requires that first the elasticity problem be considered to obtain the distribution of inplane stresses, and after that, the buckling problem is solved. The method of solution is based on the R-functions theory and the variational RayleighRitz method. The results are compared with the results obtained by other authors to confirm the reliability of the method. The behavior of a complex form plate with a cutout has been investigated.
