The stratigraphy and evolution of the subsidence during the Jurassic in an eastern section of the External Subbetic (External Zones of the Betic Cordilleras) have been analized. Backstripping curves are constructed, and they are compared with theoretically calculated tectonic subsidence curves. Margin evolution was quite complex, with distinct syn-rift and post-rift phases, affected by significant tectonic activity.
