Resumen de Inversión terciaria de la falla normal mesozoica que limitaba la subcuenca de Galve (cuenca del Maestrazgo).

Joan J. Guimerà Rosso, Ramón Salas Roig

  • An example of a Mesozoic normal fault within the Maestrat basin is studied. This fault dips to the South and bound two sub-basins; the Aliaga sub-basin, on the uplifted fault foot-wall, contains 320 m of syn-rift Kimmeridgian to middle Albian rocks, whereas the Calve sub-basin, on the downfallen hanging-wall, contains up to 2290 m of syn-rift rocks. The Calve sub-basin was inverted during the Tertiary, thrusting on the Aliaga sub-basin by means of the inversion of the normal fault, which became a reverse fault, and by a newly formed thrust in the foot-wall of it; a fault-propagation fold formed at the tip of the latter.
