Resumen de Information Management as Strategy in the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel Assessment Process

  • Purpose: To analyse if the information management might be characterized as an effective strategy in the CAPES evaluation process in the Graduate Program in Automation and Systems Engineering (PPGEAS).

    Methodology / Approach: The study was based on the qualitative approach by field study, bibliography and documental research, and participant observation.

    Originality / Relevance: By the necessity of guaranteeing the recognition and/or maintenance of a Graduate Program, it is considered that a range of information should be managed strategically, which are submitted in ao evaluation process by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).

    Main results: The results pointed out that information management represents an effective strategy in the CAPES evaluation process to PPGEAS because accreditation permanency is linked to the way the information is managed related to the evaluation indicators. That way, strategic planning is elaborated to attempt the evaluation indicators.

    Theoretical / methodological contributions: Thus, means essential the continuous knowledge about this theme to guarantee the effectiveness of the evaluation process and the reach the results in the evaluation system in the PPGEAS scope.
