  • Resumen
    • Marine cliffs of Minorca Island show metric size boulders that have been transported inland by storms waves and/or tsunamis. These blocks, deposited singly or forming ridges parallel to the coast, are found within heights ranging from 0-30 m above sea level and up to 75 m inland from the coastline. Of the nearly 3000 measured blocks, in 14 areas, those whose transport requires more energy were selected (Transport Figure > 1000). Their size is 2.6 x 2 x 0.7 m in average. Blocks are 11.1 Tm in weight, located 10.6 m a.s.l. and 48.6 m inland. Since the maximum wave height in this area is 8 m, it must be concluded that tsunamis have taken part in its genesis. Preliminary results suggest the coexistence of mixed events: mega storms and tsunamis waves hitting the coast have been able to move boulders up to 369 Tm.
