El artículo propone un viaje a través de siete transgresiones que el arquitecto americano Peter Eisenman realizó durante los 60’ y los 70’. Por un lado en su tesis doctoral, donde la dimensión del tiempo y el formalismo emergen como principal estrategia arquitectónica. La utilización por parte de Colin Rowe del diagrama como herramienta de análisis se convertirá, en manos del arquitecto americano, en una herramienta morfogenética, en la que el tiempo (y no el espacio, la función o la construcción) adquirirá un protagonismo inédito como materia activa. Por otro lado, con la creación del Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies (IAUS), se opondrá a la academia americana, programando durante varios años un centro alternativo por donde pasarán figuras tan importantes como Bernard Tschumi o Rem Koolhaas. En el epílogo se dará un salto hasta 1988, año en el que comienza a desarrollarse el cambio hacia la digitalización del tiempo.

The paper proposes a trip around seven transgressions that American architect Peter Eisenman developed during the 60s and 70s. At one side one could study his doctoral dissertation, where he defines the dimension of time and formalism as the main architectural strategy. Colin Rowe’s use of diagram as an analytical tool will be transformed into a morphogenetic tool in the hands of Eisenman. Time and not the space, function or construction will achieve an inedited role as an active matter. On the other side, with the creation of the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies (IAUS), he will oppose to the status quo of American academy. The intense program of the IAUS will generate an alternative architectural center where one could find emergent figures such as Bernard Tschumi or Rem Koolhaas. In the epilogue the text will jump foward to 1988, year in which begins to develop the revolutionary digitization of time.
