El descubrimiento del paisaje en China: la influencia de la imaginería taoista

    Este artículo plantea una reflexión sobre el descubrimiento del paisaje en China usando como base las teorías de Javier Maderuelo y Augustin Berque sobre la génesis del concepto de «paisaje». Para llevar a cabo el análisis se propone a las imágenes relacionadas con los paraísos de los inmortales taoístas como el elemento fundamental que posibilitó dicho desvelamiento. De este modo, la influencia de aquellos paraísos idílicos en terrenos montañosos habitados por inmortales, llevaron a China a ser la primera civilización del mundo en contemplar y percibir, con deleite estético, el paisaje que conformaba sus entornos naturales (shanshui). En este sentido, ya en la dinastía Tang (618-907) cabría hablar de un desvelamiento del paisaje propiamente dicho y de la consolidación de una poesía y una pintura paisajista.

    The present article reflects on the discovery of the landscape in China from the point of view of the theories by Javier Maderuelo and Augustin Berque on the genesis of the concept of «landscape». The following analysis is carried out on the basis that the images related to the Daoist immortals' paradises are the fundamental element leading to that discovery. Thus, the influence of those idyllic paradises, set in the mountains and inhabited by immortals, resulted in the Chinese civilization being the first one to contemplate and aesthetically observe the landscape formed by its natural surroundings (shanshui). In this sense, it is possible to speak of a proper discovery of the landscape back in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) already, along with the consolidation of landscape poetry and a landscape painting school.
