El paisaje de un territorio, como parte del valor cultural, patrimonial y artístico que lleva implícito, también suscita en su conjunto otra valoración que va inherentemente asociada a la identidad de cada lugar. La Huerta de Murcia, como entorno natural manejado por la mano del hombre a lo largo de su historia, ha pasado a ser un referente paisajístico desde el siglo XIX gracias a las diferentes manifestaciones artísticas y literarias que lo potenciaron como recurso identitario. El conjunto natural, representado por una particular vegetación, en parte importada por las diferentes culturas que en esta región se asentaron, conformó, junto con la importancia del agua en esta comarca, la definitiva percepción de oasis, edén o arcadia.

The Huerta de Murcia, as a natural environment managed by the hand of man throughout its history, has become a landscape reference since the nineteenth century thanks to the different artistic and literary manifestations that enhanced it as an identity resource. The natural set, represented by a particular vegetation, partly imported by the different cultures that settled in this region, formed, together with the importance of water in this area, the definitive perfection of oasis, eden or arcadia.
