Resumen de Conservando cuerpos, restaurando almas. Plan Director para la recuperación de Rāy Pravīṇ Mahal y sus jardines

El proyecto en cuestión consiste en un Plan Director para la recuperación, en cuerpo y alma, de Rāy Pravīṇ Mahal y sus jardines, en Orchā, India. Con esto nos referimos, por un lado, a la conservación del monumento físico per se –el cuerpo– y, por el otro, a la restauración de su atmósfera primigenia, de su ambiente artístico –el alma–. Se ha buscado, por tanto, rescatar y redestinar este espacio: primero consolidando sus vestigios arquitectónicos, pictóricos y paisajísticos, para luego cederle el protagonismo a la mujer y al desarrollo de las artes efímeras que dieron sentido a aquel lugar: la danza, la música y la poesía. En el presente artículo, en cambio, nos centraremos en la cuestión paisajística y en los jardines que envuelven al monumento.

The project in question consists in a Master Plan for the recovery, body and soul, of Rāy Pravīṇ Mahal and its gardens, in Orchā, India. By this we mean, on the one hand, the conservation of the physical monument per se –the body– and, on the other hand, the restoration of its original atmosphere, of its artistic ambient –the soul–. Therefore, it has been sought to rescue and redirect this space: first by consolidating its architectural, pictorial and landscape vestiges, and then giving prominence to women and the development of the ephemeral arts that gave sense to that space: dance, music and poetry. In this article, instead, we will focus on the landscape and the gardens that surrounds the monument.
