La infección por clamidia es una enfermedad de transmisión sexual (ETS) común que puede infectar tanto a los hombres como a las mujeres causando daños graves y permanentes en el aparato reproductor de una mujer y hacer más difícil o imposible que quede embarazada en el futuro.
Son bacterias intracelulares obligadas inmóviles y patógenas para el hombre.
La mayoría de infecciones genitales en adultos pueden tratarse con doxiciclina o con azitromicina, ambas por vía oral.

Chlamydia infection is a common sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can infect both men and women, causing serious and permanent damage to a woman’s reproductive system and making it more difficult or impossible for her to become pregnant in the future.
They are obligate intracellular bacteria that are immobile and pathogenic for man.
Most genital infections in adults can be treated with doxycycline or azithromycin, both taken by mouth.
