    La protección y difusión del patrimonio paleontológico, al igual que el patrimonio geológico, ha ocupado un lugar preferente en la literatura científica en los últimos años. Este hecho queda patente en los congresos sobre patrimonio geológico y paleontológico, tanto en el ámbito de la Sociedad Geológica de España (SGE), como de la Sociedad Española de Paleontología (SEP). La finalidad de este artículo es valorar el patrimonio geológico de Aragón y su gestión, presentando medidas que podrían aplicarse a los espacios geológicos y paleontológicos en el marco de la Comunidad Autónoma de Aragón. Esta discusión permite asimismo evaluar y analizar positivamente sus valores patrimoniales y requerimientos de protección. Es fundamental la aportación de nuevas ideas y la participación de toda la comunidad científica en mejorar la situación del patrimonio geológico. Y comparar los proyectos y actuaciones que se realizan en los diferentes puntos y comunidades para el enriquecimiento de ideas y puntos de vista.

    The protection and social spread of the heritage values of both the geological and palaeontological heritage has become progressively more important in recent years. This fact is apparent and clear, as it can be seen in the progressively more relevant role that it is playing in both the Geological Society (SGE) and Palaeontological Society (SEP) meetings. The purpose of this paper is both to value and analyze the main heritage values of the most relevant geological and palaeontological points in the region (Authonomous Community) of Aragón (Spain). The valuing process should also help quantify the main protection requirements and their heritage values. A further fundamental point is the supply of new ideas and the collaboration (or participation) of the whole scientific community in order to improve the social status of the geological and palaeontological heritage. Similarly, a further important point is to compare the protection measures taken in the Community of Aragón with the measures taken in other communities of Spain. This comparison has revealed sort of fruitful in order to contribute to the progress of new ideas and different points of view.
