La situación de los obreros gaditanos a comienzos de los años 20 era totalmente precaria.
Tras el fracaso de las huelgas de 1917 y con un anarcosindicalismo que renacía tras su ilegalización en 1920, surge la idea de una exposición obrera por parte de los sindicatos socialistas de la capital para intentar dignifi car el trabajo proletario que luego sería imitada en Jerez. Esta investigación trata de averiguar los antecedentes y los motivos para celebrar tales eventos, su desarrollo y sus resultados, comparando una primera exposición, con un carácter más obrero, con la segunda, donde aparecen patronos e industriales. Ambas exposiciones son una muestra del movimiento obrero más moderado, pero no por ello dejan de ser una muestra más de la lucha sindical

The situation of the Cadiz workers at the beginning of the 1920s was totally precarious.
After the failure of the strikes of 1917 and with an anarcho-syndicalism that was reborn after its outlawing in 1920, the idea of a workers´exhibition by the socialist unión of the city arose to try to dignify proletarian work, and after would be copied in Jerez. This research tries to fi nd out the background and reasons for celebrating such an events, its development and its results, comparing a fi rst exhibition, with a more working- class carácter, with the second, where empolyers and industrialist appear. Both exhibitions are a sample of the more moderate labor movement, but they are nonetheless another sample of the unión struggle
