El Carnaval de Cádiz es un ejemplo perfecto de la subversión en dos espacios diferenciados: la calle y el teatro, siendo el primero de estos es el hábitat natural del Carnaval desde la Edad Media En este artículo profundizaremos en cada uno de los períodos históricos, a fin de entrar a valorar las razones sociales que motivaron los prejuicios de la fiesta, así como las distintas medidas tomadas desde el poder para silenciar la fiesta, y la herencia actual que estos comportamientos nos han dejado, con sus ventajas y desventajas. Asimismo, a lo largo del mismo podrán observarse las sustanciales diferencias de los dos hábitats naturales del Carnaval gaditano. En primer lugar, la calle, donde la espontaneidad y la ausencia de reglamento son las características principales de su naturaleza. Por otro lado, el teatro, donde el Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones del Carnaval de Cádiz refleja un metafórico Síndrome de Estocolmo proveniente de las Fiestas Típicas Gaditanas del cual pretende deshacerse.

The Carnival of Cádiz is a perfect example of the subversion of two discernible spaces: the street and the theater, the first of these being the natural habitat of the Carnival since the Middle Ages. In this article we will delve into each of the historical periods, in order to assess the social reasons that motivated the prejudices of the party, as well as the different measures taken from the power to silence the party, and the current legacy that these behaviors have left us with, both with its advantages and disadvantages. Likewise, throughout it, the substantial differences between the two natural habitats of the Carnival of Cádiz can be observed. In the first place, the street, where spontaneity and the absence of regulation are the main characteristics of its nature. On the other hand, the theater, where the Official Contest of Groups of the Carnival of Cádiz reflects a metaphorical Stockholm Syndrome originating from the Typical Gaditan Festivities of which it intends to get rid of.
