La importancia del lugar de enterramiento de los personajes ilustres o poderosos ha sido una constante a lo largo de la historia de la humanidad. En la segunda mitad del siglo XIX los III duques de Fernán Núñez construyeron en la periferia de Madrid un panteón neogótico que encargaron al arquitecto Francisco de Cubas.
Este estudio analiza dicho Panteón, paradigma de la arquitectura funeraria de la nobleza del XIX y su entorno, incluyendo aportaciones inéditas sobre los proyectos que se realizaron, su construcción y la elección del lugar para su emplazamiento.
The importance of the burial place has been a constant throughout the history of humanity.
