Oaxaca is the state in which most of the indigenous population dwell and it is the first state in regards to cultural diversity in all the country, followed by Veracruz, Chiapas and Yucatán. There are 3 million 228 thousand inhabitants in the state and 1 million speak fifteen different indigenous languages. Recent studies about the situation of indigenous people in this state show that 85% of the surface of it relates to indigenous people and even though the severe drop in the agriculture productivity, the repetitive debts withlin the indigenous peasants, etc. They represent the present and future of rural Oaxaca. The local government cannot ignore the importance that this fact implies to the economy of the entity and above all, the search of feasible alternatives should be supported by the communication with the indigenous producers and the recognition of their economical and cultural strategies, as well as a fair distribution of the resources
