There have been two main forestry approaches worldwide: State Forestry, where forest management is a public issue, and Private Forestry, where forests are a private asset to use under market laws. In the last 15 years, Oaxaca has witnessed the emergence of social organizations, both for production and technical support, that have been leading an intense change process in the sector, from State Forestry to a Community Forestry approach. Synergism between social organizations, leads traditionally marginalized communities through a development processes based on a privatized forest management and the socialization of economic benefits
