Resumen de El Contubernio de Múnich (1962): balance historiográfico

En junio de 1962 se celebró el IV Congreso del Movimiento Europeo en la ciudad de Múnich. Aprovechando la coyuntura, un grupo de españoles, opositores al régimen de Franco y llegados tanto del interior de España como del exilio, se reunió allí para debatir las condiciones que España debía cumplir para incorporarse a las nuevas instituciones europeas. El conocido como Contubernio de Múnich, nombre con el que le bautizaron los franquistas, ha sido abordado desde diferentes ópticas: de la política exterior del franquismo, las relaciones internacionales y la Guerra Fría cultural a la oposición democrática y su alternativa al régimen de Franco, siendo considerado, en ocasiones, antecedente de la Transición. Este artículo pretende recopilar todas esas perspectivas y ofrecer una visión conjunta de este importante acontecimiento de nuestra Historia.

In June 1962, the 4th Congress of the European Movement was held in the city of Munich. Grasping the opportunity thus presented, a group of Spanish opponents to Franco’s regime attended from Spain and exile to discuss the conditions that Spain would have to meet to join the new European institutions. Baptised the Munich Conspiracy by Franco, this meeting has been studied from various perspectives, ranging from the Franco regime’s foreign policy, through international relations and the Cultural Cold War, to democratic opposition and its alternative to the dictatorship, and has sometimes been considered the antecedent of the Transition. This article aims to gather all these perspectives and offer a synthesis of this important event in Spanish history.
