  • Resumen
    • Between 1890 and 1924 a total of 272 republican Members of Parliament (MPs) were elected in legislative elections in the parliamentary monarchies of Spain, Italy and Portugal. This article offers the initial results of a prosopographic study based on the biographical profiles of those 272 republicans. Two objectives were set for this study. The first objective was to bring to light certain general characteristics of the republicans in each country in order to determine their background prior to entering parliament and the context in which those MPs were elected. The second objective was to compare the data obtained in each country in order to determine whether there were more similarities or differences between them. As this is the first time a prosopographic analysis has been made of the republican MPs of that period in the three countries, it is also the first time that such data have been compared.
