Resumen de Infecciones por Staphylococcus aureus resistente a Meticilina en pacientes pediátricos

  El Staphylococcus aureus constituye uno de los patógenos más significativos y versátiles de la especie humana. Su resistencia a la Meticilina se ha diseminado de forma rápida entre pacientes hospitalizados y en la comunidad a nivel mundial. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de caracterizar la demografía, clínica y terapéutica de esta enfermedad. Para ello se realizó la consulta a 43 referencias bibliográficas tomadas de fuentes confiables de información científica. La incidencia del fenómeno estudiado se identifica a nivel internacional. Las manifestaciones clínicas varían en dependencia de su adquisición en la comunidad o en una institución hospitalaria. El tratamiento se dirige a controlar el foco de infección y la administración de antibióticos.

  Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most significant and versatile pathogens of the human species. Its resistance to methicillin has spread rapidly among hospitalized patients and in the community worldwide. A bibliographic review was carried out in order to characterize the demography, clinical and therapeutic characteristics of this disease. For this, a consultation of 43 bibliographic references taken from reliable sources of scientific information was carried out. The incidence of the phenomenon studied is identified internationally. The clinical manifestations vary depending on its acquisition in the community or in a hospital institution. Treatment is aimed at controlling the focus of infection and the administration of antibiotics.
