El mieloma múltiple es una neoplasia hematológica, que se caracteriza cada vez más por los problemas asociados a la enfermedad crónica y a la supervivencia. No es posible identificar un tumor sólido localizado, lo que le confiere un carácter difuso que puede dificultar la comprensión por parte del paciente. Además, suele tener un comienzo súbito, lo que crea un gran impacto emocional. Por lo tanto, es importante que la enfermería responda a las necesidades físicas, psicológicas y sociales, tanto durante la enfermedad como tras la remisión.

Multiple myeloma is a hematologic malignancy, characterized with increased frequency by symptoms associated with chronic disease and survival. It is not possible to identify a solid tumor localized, which confers it a diffuse character that can hinder the understanding by the patient. It usually has a sudden onset, which creates a great emotional impact. All of which taken into consideration, the Nursing approach and therapy should meet the physical, psychological and social needs, both during and after the illness period.
