  El presente artículo ilumina la compleja situación de la corte tras el fallecimiento de Felipe el Hermoso, atendiendo a las facciones que se disputaron el poder bajo la reina Juana I. El análisis de la desconocida correspondencia de Luis Ferrer −embajador de Fernando el Católico en Castilla− permite reconstruir el juego de lealtades y la actuación de aristócratas, eclesiásticos y cortesanos que se alinearon en tres grandes grupos de poder: los partidarios del regreso del monarca aragonés, los defensores de Maximiliano de Habsburgo, y los hombres de la reina, empeñados en hacer respetar la autoridad de Juana entre los otros bandos antagonistas.

  The present article sheds light on the complex situation of the court after the death of Philip the Handsome, with attention paid to the factions that disputed power under Queen Juana I. The analysis of the (previously) unknown correspondence of Luis Ferrer −ambassador of Ferdinand the Catholic in Castille− permits the reconstructionof the play of loyalites and the actuations of aristocrats, ecclesiastics, and courtiers of various kinds who aligned themselves in three large power groups, namely: the supporters of the return of the Aragonese monarch, the defenders of Maximilian of Habsburg, and those loyal to the Queen, who were bent on enforcing respect to the authority of Juana between the other antagonistic groups.
