    El Parque Nacional de Talassemtane (PNTLS) situado al noroeste de Marruecos, es un espacio natural inscrito en la lista del patrimonio excepcional de Marruecos reconocido por la UNESCO. Se caracteriza por su rica biodiversidad a escala nacional y mediterránea, y por su integración en la Reserva de Biosfera Intercontinental del Mediterráneo. La biodiversidad del parque está relacionada con una geodiversidad importante y una geomorfología espectacular. Todos ellos se encuentran fuertemente amenazados por las actividades humanas y por lo tanto deben ser protegidos para garantizar su buen estado de conservación. Para poder seleccionar los lugares de interés geológico (LIGs) dignos de conservación y determinar la naturaleza y magnitud de las intervenciones, se ha desarrollado una metodología inspirada de los trabajos de varios autores (Grandgirard, 1999; De Wever et al., 2006 y Reynard, 2006) que permite inventariar y evaluar los diferentes LIGs basándose en los datos generales, la descripción física, el valor científico y otros valores adicionales. De la evaluación de los cuarenta LIGs identificados en el PNTLS se deducen 22 con valores interesantes que podrían ser considerados patrimonio geológico.

    The Talassemtane National Park (TLSNP), situated in the northwest Morocco is an natural space registered in the list of the exceptional heritage of Morocco recognized by the UNESCO and that is characterized by its great biodiversity at national and Mediterranean scale, and by its integration in the Intercontinental Biosphere Reserve of the Mediterranean (IBRM). The biodiversity of the park is related to a large number of geologic and geomorphologic aspects. All of them are strongly threatened by the human activities and therefore they should be protected to guarantee its good state of conservation. In order to select the sites of geologic interest (SGI) deserving of conservation and to determine the nature and magnitude of the interventions, we have developed a methodology combination of the works of several authors (e.g., Grandgirard, 1999; De Wever and al., 2006; Reynard, 2006). The application of this methodology allows to inventory and evaluate the different SGI based on the general data, the physical description, the scientific value, and on additional values. The evaluation of the 40 SGI in the TLSNP allows for identification of 22 SGI with interesting values. That we purpose to conserve and can be considered as geological heritage.
