Resumen de Aproximación al patrimonio minero e industrial de mediados del siglo XIX en Castilla-La Mancha a partir del Diccionario de Madoz

  Gracias al Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz se dispone de una interesante relación de los recursos productivos existentes en España a mediados del siglo XIX. Esta época es muy significativa desde los puntos de vista de la Historia de la Tecnología y del Patrimonio Técnico e Industrial, ya que se encuentra a caballo entre el final de la era pre-industrial y el comienzo del periodo industrial propiamente dicho. En el presente trabajo se realiza la identificación y un primer estudio de la situación de las actividades mineras e industriales a partir de los contenidos de la obra citada, lo cual, pese a las importantes restricciones que ello supone, permite la obtención de una aceptable aproximación a la estructura, instalaciones y métodos productivos existentes en aquella época. Este trabajo también intenta prestar apoyo al establecimiento de inventarios de elementos patrimoniales inmuebles y a la realización de nuevos estudios sobre bienes patrimoniales en los campos minero, preindustrial e industrial.

  The Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar or simply Dictionary of Pascual Madoz, provides an interesting list of the main productive resources existing in Spain in the middle of nineteenth century. This period is located between the end of the pre-industrial era and the beginning of the industrial period and, therefore, it is very interesting from the points of view of the History of Technology and the Technical and Industrial Heritage. This work carries out the identification and study of the situation of the mining and industrial activities from the analysis of the contents of the mentioned source. In spite of the important restrictions that this supposes, this study allows to obtain an acceptable approximation to the structure, facilities and productive methods existing at that time. This work also tries to support the establishment of inventories of immovable assets and the development of new studies on heritage assets in the mining, pre-industrial and industrial fields.
