Adecuación de la prescripción de apósitos de lidocaína 5% a la indicación autorizada mediante visado

    Objetivo. Analizar el grado de adecuación de los apósitos de lidocaína 5% (AL5%) a la indicación au - torizada en ficha técnica (FT) y evaluar el impacto económico de limitar su dispensación mediante visado.

    Método. Estudio observacional retrospectivo. Se analizaron prescripciones activas de AL5% en receta electrónica (e-receta) y códigos diagnósticos asociados (CIAP) a 1 de octubre 2018, 1 de octubre 2019 y 1 de octubre 2020 , considerándose adecuadas las prescripciones de AL5% asociadas al diagnóstico CIAP S70 (Herpes Zoster). Se analizaron datos de consumo farmacéutico con receta del SNS (número de envases y PVP) en tres periodos de tiempo: noviembre 2017-octubre 2018, noviembre 2018-octubre 2019 y noviembre 2019-octubre 2020.

    Fuentes de datos: DATA de Farmacia, Farmasalud. Los datos fueron tratados de forma global y anónima para evitar identificar a los pacientes o a los prescriptores.

    Resultados. A fecha 1 de octubre 2018, 664 pacientes tenían prescripciones activas de AL5% en e-rece- ta, de los cuales el 2,1% (n=14) cumplía la indicación autorizada en FT (CIAP S70). A fecha 1 de octubre 2019, hubo 54 pacientes con prescripciones activas de AL5%, de las que en 18 pacientes (33,3%) se adecuaban a la indicación autorizada. A fecha 1 de octubre 2020, 13 y 19 pacientes de los que estaban en tratamiento con AL5% en 2018 y 2019 respectivamente, mantenían la prescripción activa de AL5% en e-receta, siendo a su vez, el 46,2% (n=6) y 52,6% (n=10) respectivamente, acordes a la indicación autorizada en FT.

    El consumo de AL5% se redujo un 97,5% pasando de 6.527 envases facturados en el periodo de noviem- bre 2017 a octubre 2018 a 163 envases facturados desde noviembre 2019 a octubre 2020. El gasto farmacéuti- co asociado a AL5% disminuyó un 98,0% en el periodo noviembre 2019-octubre 2020 con respecto al mismo periodo de 2017-2018.

    Conclusiones. La limitación de las condiciones de financiación de AL5% ha permitido la adecuación de la prescripción a la indicación en FT, una disminución en el número de pacientes con prescripciones activas en e-receta y una reducción del gasto farmacéutico.

    Objetive. To analyze the degree of adequacy of lidocaine 5% dressings (AL5%) to the authorized indication in the technical data sheet (FT) and evaluate the economic impact of limiting their dispen- sing by means of a visa.

    Method. Retrospective observational study. Active prescriptions of AL5% in electronic prescrip - tion (e-prescription) and associated diagnostic codes (CIAP) were analyzed as of October 1, 2018, Oc - tober 1, 2019 and October 1, 2020, considering the AL5% prescriptions associated with the CIAP S70 diagnosis as adequate. (Herpes zoster). Data on pharmaceutical consumption with prescription from the SNS (number of containers and RRP) were analyzed in three time periods: November 2017-October 2018, November 2018-October 2019 and November 2019-October 2020.

    Data sources: DATA de Farmacia, Farmasalud. The data were processed globally and anonymously to avoid identifying patients or prescribers.

    Results. As of October 1, 2018, 664 patients had active prescriptions of AL5% in e-prescription, of which 2.1% (n = 14) met the authorized indication in FT (CIAP S70). As of October 1, 2019, there were 54 patients with active prescriptions of AL5%, of which in 18 patients (33.3%) they were adapted to the authorized indication. As of October 1, 2020, 13 and 19 patients of those who were in treatment with AL5% in 2018 and 2019 respectively, maintained the active prescription of AL5% in e-prescription, being in turn, 46.2% (n = 6) and 52.6% (n = 10) respectively, according to the authorized indication in FT.

    The consumption of AL5% was reduced by 97.5%, from 6,527 containers invoiced in the period from November 2017 to October 2018 to 163 containers invoiced from November 2019 to October 2020. Pharmaceutical expenditure associated with AL5% decreased by 98.0% in the period November 2019-October 2020 with respect to the same period of 2017-2018.

    Conclusions. The limitation of the financing conditions of AL5% has allowed the adaptation of the prescription to the indication in FT, a decrease in the number of patients with active prescriptions in e-prescription and a reduction in pharmaceutical spending
