El artículo analiza el estado del aprendizaje de la historia en México, considerando las problemáticas que dificultan la implementación de un enfoque formativo de la asignatura y que se han plasmado en las propuestas curriculares más actuales. Se exponen algunos elementos a partir de la década de los noventa, que es cuando inicia la propuesta del “pensamiento histórico”. Se consideran algunos planteamientos que forman parte del debate acerca de cómo debe ser la enseñanza de la historia en las aulas de educación básica, buscando apuntar hacia el establecimiento de un balance entre lo pedagógico y lo disciplinar, como fundamentos para una didáctica de la historia formativa..

The article analyses the state of the didactics of the history in Mexico considering the problems that hinder the implementation of a formative approach of the subject; this is reflected in the most current curricular proposals. Some elements of the historical development of the subject of history in Mexico are exposed from the nineties, which is when it starts the proposal of “historical thinking”. The analysis considers some approaches that are part of the debate about how it should be the teaching of history in the classrooms of basic education. The intention is to achieve a balance between the pedagogical and the discipline, as foundations for a didactic of the formative history.
