El trabajo aborda la medición de las variables en la investigación educativa y la relación de este proceso con la matemática. Se explica cómo las variables pueden medirse en diferentes escalas de acuerdo al grado de isomorfismo entre las propiedades que ellas representan y el sistema numérico, teniendo en cuenta los postulados de Campbell. Se ejemplifica con situaciones propias de la educación.

The article deal with the measurement of the variables in the educative research and the relationship of this process with math. It is explained how the variables can be measured in different scales according with the degree of isomorphism between the properties represented by them and the numerical system, taking in to account the Campbell‘s postulates. Some examples are offered about education.
