El Arrabal de Getsemaní de Cartagena de Indias en 1620. Un SIG de localización inmueble a inmueble

    Resumen  Getsemaní fue el arrabal de Cartagena de Indias en la época colonial. Se localizaba entre el núcleo urbano de la ciudad y el camino real. Por esta ubicación, fue una área estratégica por la que circulaban agentes y mercancías que iban y volvían del puerto. Además, ha sido caracterizado por la historiografía como área de residencia de poblaciones pobres o no ricas. Sin embargo, su urbanismo no ha recibido investigaciones específicas. Es sobre el tema del urbanismo de Getsemaní a inicios del siglo XVII que este artículo se enfoca. Para tal cosa, se construye un Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG) en historia que emplea como fuente la Relación de Getsemaní de 1620. La hipótesis es que el proceso histórico de ocupación del arrabal fue determinado por elementos religiosos y económicos.

    Getsemaní was the suburb of Cartagena de Indias in the Colonial Era. Getsemaní was between the Downtown of Cartagena and the Principal Road to the Nuevo Reino de Granada, for this reason, agents and goods moved through Getsemaní with the goal to arrive and leave the port. Additionally, the historiography has characterized Getsemaní as a neighborhood of poors and people not rich. However, the history of the urban planning of Getsemaní has not received attention. The subject of this paper is the history of Getsemaní urban planning in the beginning of the 17th century. In order to explain this history, this paper builds a Geographical Information System (GIS) in History with the source: “Relación” of 1620. The hypothesis is that the historical process to occupation of the suburb was determined for religion and economic elements
