This article discusses the problems of using linguistic means as symbols of emotions in various forms. Expressions of emotions in literary works are considered a basic indicator of the author's skill. This topic in modern linguistics from the point of view of cognitive science is a very urgent problem. The material of the research is the works of art by the Azerbaijani writer Ch. Abdullayev. In the course of the research, the author analyzes artistic symbols for expressing emotions and compares their different forms, which is the scientific novelty of this research. The main goal of the study is to identify linguistic means and expressions, linguistic elements for describing human emotions in works of art. In this article, the author uses descriptive-comparative, comparative methods of linguistics. In conclusion, it is noted that the text formation sector is often ruled by author’s estimation, saying precisely, super-estimation or overestimation, explicit or implicit, fastening all its semantic components.
