  Las páginas de Vita coetanea muestran cómo la intensa actividad autoral de Ramon Llull (1232-1316), de la que se originaron las consiguientes reelaboraciones de Ars, tiene un doble propósito: la búsqueda interior de Dios y la conversión de los infieles a través de la refutación de sus errores. A partir de la valoración de estos dos aspectos, la presente investigación cuestiona la naturaleza de la teología de Llull, el trabajo está dividido en dos partes. En la primera, se propondrá una reconstrucción del debate historiográfico que ha interesado a los especialistas durante los últimos veinte años. En particular, se examinarán las razones del conflicto entre quienes han prestado más atención a los aspectos instrumentales del Ars (teólogos lulianos). En la segunda parte, se indicará una solución a los problemas planteados anteriormente a través de una propuesta de lectura de la Disputatio fidei et intellectus (1303), en la que se abordarán los aspectos de continuidad entre el pensamiento del mallorquino y algunos elementos de la teología dominicana del siglo XIII.

  In the Vita coetanea, Ramon Llull (1232-1316) shows how his intense work - from which the consecutive re-elaborations of the Ars originate - has a two fold puerpose: the interior search for God and the conversion of the infideles through refutation of their errors. Starting from the evaluation of these two aspects, the article asks questions about the nature of Llull's theology; it is divided into two parts. In the first one, I shall describe the historiographical debate that has involved specialized scholars over the last twenty years; in particular, the contrast will be shown between those who have paid more attention to the instrumental aspects of the Ars (secularists) and those who have reaffirmed its original theological essence (theologians). In the second part, I shall attempt to suggest a solution to the problems previously raised, through a reading of the Disputatio fidei et intellectus (1303), highlighting aspects of continuity between Llull's thought and some elements of thirteenth century Dominican theology.
