Resumen de Πλατώνειά τε καὶ Σωκράτεια: Identidad y comunión en el seno de las comunidades platónicas del helenismo tardío

En este artículo pretendemos analizar las celebraciones en honor del aniversario de Platón y Sócrates (Πλατώνειά καὶ Σωκράτεια) en el seno de las comunidades platónicas del helenismo tardío. Los testimonios que poseemos señalan una llave temporal para su festejo entre los siglo I y V d.C. destacando por su carácter cultural, cultual y ritual. El maestro o líder de la escuela hacía las veces de anfitrión convocando a la velada al círculo interno de discípulos o compañeros con los que disfrutaba de un banquete, así como de las actividades eruditas propias del simposio. En suma, se trataba de una celebración impregnada de una profunda atmósfera religiosa y espiritual que se convirtió en una de los últimas prácticas paganas del ámbito privado en la Antigüedad Tardía.

In this article I aim at analysing the celebrations in honour of the anniversary of Plato and Socrates (Πλατώνειά καὶ Σωκράτεια) within the Platonic communities of late Hellenism. The literary evidence that we have can be dated between the 1st and 5th centuries CE and, as we show in this study, they stand out for its cultural, cultic and ritual character. Regarding the modus operandi, the school leader hosted the special meeting and summoned the inner circle of disciples or companions. They enjoyed altogether a banquet, as well as the literate activities typical of the symposium. In short, it was a celebration permeated by a deeply religious and spiritual atmosphere that became one of the last private pagan practices in Late Antiquity.
