Las noticias históricas sobre la aparición de “calaveras” y otros restos humanos en la comarca de els Ports (Castelló), tienen su origen ya en el s. XIX y han sido reflejadas en la bibliografía local. Aún hoy en día, gracias a la información oral aportada por agricultores y albañiles, seguimos conociendo lugares con potencial arqueofunerario. En Morella, han transcurrido algo más de diez años desde la primera excavación arqueológica que contemplara el estudio antropológico de los restos humanos exhumados, quizás haya llegado el momento de plantear el estado de la cuestión que, en un solo trabajo, sirva de herramienta introductoria para futuros investigadores. Historical news on the appearance of skulls and other human remains in the region of els Ports (Castelló) date back to the nineteenth century and have been reflected in local literature. Even today, thanks to the oral information provided by farmers and brick layers, spots with an archeological-funerary potential continue to emerge. Slightly more than ten years have passed since the first archeological excavation in Morella to consider the anthropological study of exhumed human remains. Perhaps the time has come to pose a state of the art that, in a single work, functions as an introductory tool for future researchers.
