  Expondremos un caso real de una mujer de 85 años con Alzheimer y patología diversa a la cual se le realiza una gastrostomía colocando una PEG por la que posteriormente introduciremos una sonda yeyunal debido a los problemas surgidos, evitando así la necesidad de pasar por quirófano.

  Desarrollaremos las indicaciones, contraindicaciones y cuidados de una gastrostomía así como la importancia del adiestramiento del personal sanitario y la familia.

  Comentaremos también cómo se llevó a cabo este procedimiento en el Servicio de Endoscopias Digestivas del H.O.P de Teruel.

  We will present a real case of an 85 year old woman with Alzheimer’s disease and various pathologies who underwent a gastrostomy by placing a PEG through which we will later introduce a jejunal tube due to the problems that arose, thus avoiding the need to go to the operating room.

  We will develop the indications, contraindications and care of a gastrostomy as well as the importance of the training of the health personnel and the family.

  We will also comment on how this procedure was carried out in the Digestive Endoscopy Service of the H.O.P. of Teruel.
