    En El despertar de Leviatán, novela de James S. A. Corey, que fue adaptada para la primera temporada de The Expanse (La expansión), una nave espacial de Marte, una vez que escapa, toma el nombre de Rocinante. Esta es una de las varias maneras en las que la novela y la serie anuncian que el Quijote será un motivo recurrente. Por ejemplo, el detective Josephus Miller, al ir en busca de Julie Mao, una joven perdida o secuestrada, poco a poco se metamorfosea en figura que absorbe elementos del caballero cervantino.     In 2011, James S. A. Corey published Leviathan Wakes, the first book in the sci-fi series The Expanse: Leviathan Wakes depicts a solar system colonized by humans, where Earth and Mars are at odds, new superpowers in the guise of planets. PRELIMINARIES The prologue to the 1605 Cervantes's Don Quixote is a parodic attack of the authority of both the written word and the author of the novel, who finds himself unable to "adorn" his work, as a friend gives him mock-advice to cite authorities at random. The questioning of authority is only implied in the paratexts of Leviathan Wakes. [...]the latter had collaborated with George R. R. Martin, whose series A Song of Ice and Fire was made into the hit television program, Game of Thrones. Holden, a veteran of Earth's navy, is now the Executive Officer at the Canterbury, hauling ice from Saturn to Ceres, so that the inhabitants of the Belt would have enough water to survive
