  Este trabajo propone analizar el cortometraje Babás (Consuelo Lins, 2010) a partir de dos cuestiones centrales: el uso particular del archivo y la noción de retrato (fotográfico, cinematográfico, pictórico) que se desplaza tanto de soportes como de significados. La directora parte de una fotografía encontrada en un archivo público y desde allí irá  a buscar en el suyo propio el material necesario para hacer un homenaje a las niñeras. En esta búsqueda, la visita al pasado y su relación con la memoria se torna central, por eso el concepto de archivo, desde la redefinición que señalaron Michel Foucault y Jacques Derrida, servirá para abordar y reformular la escritura, la memoria, los cuerpos y sus representaciones. Lins somete las imágenes a prueba y especulación, las escruta para que digan lo que en principio no dijeron e intenta reconstruir a través de desplazamientos (de tiempo, espacio y soporte) una ausencia.

  This work suggests analyzing the short film Babás (by Consuelo Lins,2010) based on two central questions: the particular use of the archive and the notion of portraiture (photographic, cinematographic, pictorial) that moves about supports and meanings. The director starts from a photograph found in a public archive and from there she will search within hers for the necessary material to pay homage to the nannies. In this search, the visit to the past and its relationship with memory becomes central, that is why the concept of the archive, from the redefinition indicated by Michel Foucault and Jacques Derrida, will serve to address and reformulate writing, memory, bodies and their representations. Lins puts the images to the test and speculation, scrutinizes them so that they say what they did not say at first, and tries to reconstruct an absence through displacements (of time, space and support).
