The article studies the origins and developments of the journal Quaderni costituzionali. It is a research conducted at two levels: on the one hand, the analysis of all the editorials published by the journal, in particular from 1981 to 1998; on the other hand, a census of the articles published and their authors (1981-2020). The aim is to answer these two questions: to what extent does the current journal still implement the project of its founders? To what extent has the journal interpreted its more recent mission as the disciplinary journal of Italian constitutional lawyers?
