El presente artículo pretende analizar los efectos nocivos del modelo hegemónico de masculinidad en los varones y cómo afecta esto al ejercicio de la paternidad. El análisis se desarrolla a través de tres ejes, el primero hace referencia a cómo aparecen estos efectos en aquellos individuos que se muestran concordantes con las propuestas del modelo; el segundo, a la forma en que estos efectos aparecen en los individuos que se muestran discordantes con las propuestas hegemónicas y, en tercer y último lugar, se detallan aquellas características que describen una masculinidad y paternidad saludables, libres de la influencia y dominancia del modelo hegemónico de género en los varones. Por último, se describen las condiciones que han de concurrir para facilitar el desarrollo de una masculinidad sana y de una paternidad responsable.

This article analyzes the harmful effects of the hegemonic masculinity model on males and on their exercise of fatherhood. The analysis is developed through three main axles: the first one refers to how these effects appear in individuals that show conformity with the presuppositions of this model, the second, discusses the way in which these effects appear in individuals who show their discrepancy against the hegemonic proposals, and in the third place it resumes and describes the features that define a healthy masculinity and fatherhood, free of the influence and dominance of the hegemonic gender model in male population. Finally, it describes the necessary conditions that must concur to facilitate a healthy development of masculinity and a responsible fatherhood.
